OUR PROCESS

Traditional Japanese Shear Sharpening

We take the very best care of your shears, here's how!

  1. We take every shear apart, clean and disinfect and replace any parts that are damaged or worn out.
  2. We use a Japanese water honing system to produce razor sharp convex edges and restore the original factory edge.
  3. We hand hone every shear to buttery smooth perfection.
  4. After assembly, we test every shear to make sure that it performs better than new.

Frequently Asked Questions

  • How often should I get my shears sharpened?

It just depends. A general rule I use is if you are only doing haircuts all day, I would say have them checked between 3 and 4 months. If you do full service and not as many haircuts,  I would say between 4 and 6 months - but no longer than 6 months. Also the quality of the shears and how well you take care of them will determine how long between sharpenings.

  • Do you sharpen knives or any other types of shears like fabric shears?

No, sorry not at this time. I specialize in hair cutting shears only.

  • I just got my shears back and they are bending hair. Do they need to be re-sharpened?

Probably not. When shears bend after they have been sharpened 99% of the time they just came loose. If there is not enough pressure on the blades it will bend the hair and not cut it.

  • How much do you charge for sharpening?

You know what I hate the most is when I go on a website and try to find out  how much things cost and the prices are never listed. Not happening here! I charge $35 per shear, thinning shears and texturizers.

  • What forms of payment do you take?

I take cash, check, Venmo, Zelle, and Cash App. If you don't have any of those I take debit and credit cards.

  • HELP!! I dropped my shears and now they wont close! What do I do??

    Call me.
